Las autoridades al frente de la investigación sobre la muerte de Michael Jackson retrasaron la posibilidad de presentar cargos hasta el año que viene, según publicó ayer la edición digital del diario Los Angeles Times.
Según este periódico, la complejidad y la abundancia de las evidencias médicas postergará en el tiempo cualquier acusación formal "meses más que semanas".
Los agentes federales y locales iniciaron una investigación por homicidio poco después del fallecimiento del "rey del pop" el pasado 25 de junio debido a una intoxicación aguda de anestésicos, según certificó el análisis forense.
El que fuera médico personal del artista, Conrad Murray, se convirtió en el centro de las pesquisas policiales, cooperó con las autoridades y fue interrogado en varias ocasiones.
En sus testimonios, Murray reconoció haber administrado a Jackson las sustancias que le causaron la muerte, solo disponibles bajo prescripción médica, aunque negó que actuase incorrectamente.
Los recibos encontrados en los registros en los inmuebles de Murray probaron que el doctor había adquirido los medicamentos encontrados en el cuerpo de Jackson en una farmacia en Las Vegas.
El médico explicó a las autoridades que el "rey del pop" tenía una adicción a los sedantes y que él había intentado desintoxicarlo.
