Las acciones de Banco Popular subían el martes con fuerza en un mercado bajista y en contra de la tendencia a labaja de los valores financieros.
La debilidad de los bancos se producía tras la mayor quiebra de la historia en Wall Street tras solicitar la víspera Lehman Brothersprotección contra bancarrota
A las 09:55 horas, las acciones de Popular subían un 7,14 por ciento a 7,65 euros tras avanzar inicialmente hasta un 9 por ciento.
"Puede ser una corrección tras los recientes descensos", dijo un operador.
Junto a Popular avanzaban los títulos de Banco Pastor un 5,43 por ciento a pesar de que Moody's rebajara su rating por la exposición delbanco al sector inmobiliario.
"Alguien puede estar pensando en algún acuerdo entre Pastor y Popular en un mercado susceptible a todo tipo de especulaciones", dijoun operador de un broker francés.
En cambio un operador de Intermoney Valores dijo que lo que se estaba viendo "era seguramente la cobertura de posiciones cortas. Nocreo que haya nada detrás de esto".
