Las bolsas europeas cerraron el martes con caídas, después de que los datos de la economía estadounidense señalasen una inflación más elevada y un sector manufacturero más débil, y con los bancos griegos a la cabeza de las caídas financieras debido a la preocupación ante las medidas fiscales adoptadas por Atenas para reducir el déficit.
El índice paneuropeo FTSEurofirst 300 de los principales valores cedía un 0,06 por ciento situándose en 1.017,7 puntos. La caída interrumpió tres días de crecimiento.
Los valores de los bancos griegos se encontraron bajo presión, con los analistas citando posibles temores ante la falta de una postura más firme para apuntalar las finanzas del país. National Bank of Greece, EFG Eurobank y Bank of Piraeus se dejaron entre un 4,8 y un 4,9 por ciento.
Los precios de producción de EEUU crecieron más de lo esperado en noviembre, mientras un indicador del sector manufacturero del Estado de Nueva York cayó inesperadamente este mes.
"Los mercados han cedido a causa de los datos. Ambos son indicadores destacados, y no es buena combinación", dijo Philip Lawlor, estratega de Nomura, en Londres.
