Bulgaria se ha propuesto como objetivo organizar un Gran Premio de Fórmula Uno en un futuro cercano, dijo la Federación Búlgara de Automovilismo.
"Es muy difícil, pero creo que vamos a tener éxito", aseguró el presidente de la entidad, Bogdan Nikolov, citado el lunes en el diario 24 Chasa.
Nikolov anticipó que el 15 de diciembre presentará un plan y una candidatura a la Federación Internacional del Automóvil (FIA) para que sea analizada al día siguiente por el director comercial de la F1, Bernie Ecclestone.
De acuerdo con el proyecto, se construirá un circuito cerca de la ciudad de Pleven, en el norte de este país balcánico.
Está previsto que Bulgaria organice en 2010 una carrera por el campeonato mundial de rally y espera acoger en 2011 un gran premio de MotoGP.
