El primer ministro británico, David Cameron, destacó que el Congreso Nacional Africano (CNA), que hoy celebra los cien años de su fundación, es un "ejemplo para el mundo" por su lucha contra la discriminación y la opresión.
En una carta enviada al presidente sudafricano, Jacob Zuma, divulgada hoy, el jefe del Gobierno envió las felicitaciones al CNA y a todas las personas vinculadas a ese partido en nombre del pueblo británico por tratarse de "un aniversario muy especial".
"El Congreso Nacional Africano ha sido un ejemplo para el mundo en su lucha contra la discriminación y la lucha por la libertad frente a la opresión", indica la misiva de Cameron.
El "premier" resaltó la defensa que hizo el CNA por los derechos de todos los sudafricanos gracias a personalidades como Nelson Mandela, primer presidente negro de Sudáfrica.
Cameron calificó de "increíbles" los cambios conseguidos por Sudáfrica en los últimos años y manifestó su determinación a apoyar al país en la continua lucha por la igualdad, la democracia y la prosperidad para el pueblo sudafricano.
