El embajador español en Kenia, Nicolás Martín Cinto, que llegó ayer a Somalia para intentar resolver el secuestro del pesquero "Playa de Bakio" en aguas de ese país, continúa con las gestiones diplomáticas en Mogasdicio y se reunirá hoy de nuevo con el primer ministro somalí, Nur Hasan Husein.
En una nueva nota de prensa, el Gobierno insiste en que uno de sus objetivos prioritarios es salvaguardar en todo momento la integridad física y la vida de los marineros españoles del "Playa de Bakio", capturado por piratas el pasado domingo.
Según destaca el Ejecutivo, cada día se intensifican las gestiones y los esfuerzos diplomáticos para conseguir la liberación de los 13 españoles y los 13 africanos que conforman la tripulación del pesquero.
A través de los Ministerios de Asuntos Exteriores y de Medio Ambiente, el Gobierno está en permanente contacto con las familias de la tripulación española y con los representantes de la empresa armadora.
Mientras, la fragata "Méndez de Vigo" continúa navegando en aguas del Océano Índico hacia la zona marítima del continente africano donde fue secuestrado el barco.
