El ministro de Trabajo e Inmigración, Celestino Corbacho, ha pedido hoy "segregar" el acuerdo entre la Generalitat de Cataluña y el Gobierno central para abastecer de agua al área metropolitana de Barcelona del debate sobre los trasvases.
En declaraciones a TVE recogidas por Efe, Corbacho se refería así a las críticas del presidente valenciano, Francisco Camps, sobre el acuerdo que sellarán hoy la Generalitat y el Gobierno para la prolongación del mini-trasvase del Ebro a Tarragona hacia Barcelona y sus "aportaciones puntuales de agua".
El ministro ha rechazado que ese acuerdo suponga una humillación para los valencianos como ha dicho Camps y ha considerado que "sería una humillación si hiciéramos un trasvase en toda regla del Ebro al área metropolitana".
Ha recordado que el trasvase del Ebro a Tarragona está ya hecho y ha apuntado que un porcentaje de agua de esa infraestructura se está vertiendo directamente al mar.
Corbacho ha subrayado que la ciudad de Barcelona se encuentra en una situación de emergencia y ha considerado que sería "una contradicción ver venir un barco de Almería y cuando pase por delante de Tarragona, ver un agua sobrante cayendo al mar".
"Cuando hay una situación de emergencia hay que darle respuestas de emergencia y eso hay que segregarlo del debate sobre qué debe hacerse con las infraestructuras en los próximos años para que el área metropolitana de Barcelona no tenga que depender de los ciclos de sequía", ha dicho.
