El déficit por cuenta corriente de España bajó casi a la mitad hasta octubre de 2009 frente al mismo periodo de 2008 en medio de la crisis económica, según datos divulgados el miércoles por el Banco de España.
En octubre de este año, se registró un déficit por cuenta corriente por valor de 4.151,4 millones de euros frente a los 7.707,1 millones de octubre de 2008 y se compara con un déficit de 4.400 millones de euros de septiembre de 2009.
El banco central atribuyó este descenso fundamentalmente a la disminución del saldo negativo de la balanza comercial y de la de rentas.
El déficit de la balanza comercial se situó en octubre de 2009 en 3.432,5 millones, frente a 6.092,6 millones en el mismo mes de 2008.
En un contexto de contracción de la actividad comercial, las exportaciones cayeron de forma interanual un 10,4 por ciento mientras las importaciones disminuyeron un 19,1 por ciento.
Por su parte, el saldo negativo de la balanza de rentas disminuyó fuertemente en octubre de 2009 hasta situarse en 1.580,7 millones de euros, frente a los 3.042,5 millones del año anterior.
