El Infoca ha dado por extinguido el incendio que se originó el viernes entre las localidades granadinas de Lanjarón y Lecrín, dentro del Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, supuestamente provocado por una joven francesa de 18 años que ha quedado en libertad tras ser imputada por el juez.
Según han explicado hoy a Efe fuentes del Infoca, el siniestro quedó extinguido a las 20.30 horas de ayer y ha afectado a una superficie de seis hectáreas y 3.000 metros de matorral y arbolado en el paraje conocido como Era del Castillo, en el término municipal de Béznar-Lecrín.
Aunque el fuego permanecía controlado desde las 21.25 horas del viernes, los técnicos del servicios de extinción de incendios no lo han dado por extinguido hasta casi veinticuatro horas después, ya que al haberse quemado material denso como es el matorral y el arbolado lo habitual es que queden más puntos con altas temperaturas y sea más fácil que pueda volver a prender.
La supuesta autora del fuego fue puesta ayer en libertad provisional sin fianza tras ser imputada por un supuesto delito de incendio forestal, por el que se han abierto diligencias previas y se ha requerido a Medio Ambiente un informe sobre la valoración de los daños del incendio.
La joven, identificada como M.I.M.T., se encontraba de vacaciones en España y provocó el incendio cuando intentaba quemar unos residuos que ella misma había generado con la intención de eliminarlos y no dejarlos abandonados, aunque se presentó voluntariamente ante las fuerzas de seguridad relatando lo que había sucedido, según la Guardia Civil.
En los trabajos de extinción del incendio, dificultadas por la existencia de fuerte viento que hicieron temer que las llamas se pudieran extender a la Sierra de la Alpujarra, participaron dos helicópteros de transporte y extinción, un avión de carga en tierra, seis vehículos autobomba y 56 especialistas en extinción, han indicado fuentes del Infoca.
