El ex presidente del Gobierno, Felipe González, propone una política de Estado en materia de agua, que atienda a los ciudadanos en el conjunto del territorio y se aleje "de la cosecha inmediata de votos".
En un artículo de opinión, que publica hoy El País, González insiste en que "la política del agua se haga con mayúsculas" y pide que los dirigentes mantengan en esta materia la misma actitud cuando están en el Gobierno o en la posición, "en el centro o en las comunidades".
Para el ex presidente, los planes hidrológicos nacionales o los trasvases "no son de izquierdas o de derechas, como ahora se pretende, sino oportunos o no, necesarios o no".
"No hay que demonizar ni sacralizar ninguna fórmula para arreglar el desafío, para evitar la irracionalidad, en un debate cargado siempre de sentimientos", asegura González, quien considera que no hay que excluir la posibilidad de realizar un trasvase si fuera "necesario y mejor que otras medidas en términos económicos, medioambientales y sociales".
González plantea que la solución al problema del agua puede venir de la mano del desarrollo tecnológico y pide tener presente la desalinización de agua del mar para obtener recursos hídricos.
