Retirarse después de 22 años al frente del Manchester United es una perspectiva temible, dijo Alex Ferguson.
"Ahora me da miedo pensar en retirarme", dijo Ferguson en una entrevista publicada en L'Equipe Magazine el sábado. "He estado en esto durante tanto tiempo que tengo miedo de que mi cuerpo entero se derrumbe cuando lo deje", añadió.
"Cuando iba a cumplir 60 años, me pregunté (si tenía que retirarme). Estuve a punto de hacerlo. Pero me di cuenta, y mi familia también, de que habría sido un error", explicó el entrenador de 67 años.
"He decidido no hacerme esa pregunta nunca más (...) Estoy en los últimos años de mi carrera. Lo sé", dijo.
Ferguson, que llevó al United a la victoria en la Eurocopa en 1999, pensó en retirarse en 2002 pero cambió de opinión y ganó de nuevo la Champions League el año pasado, que muchos vieron como algo aún mejor que la temporada de 1999.
