El teniente fiscal de la Audiencia Nacional, Fernando Burgos, ha pedido hoy al tribunal que celebra el juicio por el accidente del Yak-42, que testifique el entonces secretario general de Política de Defensa Javier Jiménez Ugarte, el número tres del ex ministro de Defensa, Federico Trillo.
Burgos ha argumentado su petición no sólo por el cargo que ocupaba Jiménez Ugarte ni porque fuera nombrado "coordinador con las familias", sino por las entrevistas que mantuvo con los familiares de los militares fallecidos en Trebisonda (Turquía) cuando éstos comenzaron a sospechar de que las identificaciones se habían realizado erróneamente y le pidieron explicaciones.
Además de este nuevo testimonio, Burgos ha solicitado que también testifiquen en la vista oral el fiscal general de Trebisonda cuando ocurrieron los hechos, Burham Cobanoglu; el director del instituto forense de Estambul, Keramettin Kurt, así como los cuatro médicos y biólogos que intervinieron como patólogos con los cadáveres.
