El Flamengo se coronó hoy campeón de Brasil tras vencer en el último partido de la liga al Gremio por 2-1 en el estadio Maracaná.
El Gremio dio un susto a los locales al abrir el marcador a los 21 minutos por medio de Roberson, pero el Flamengo empató a los 29 con David y sentenció el marcador a los 24 minutos del segundo tiempo con anotación de Ronaldo Angelim.
El popular club de Río Janeiro llegó así a 67 puntos, dos más que el Internacional, que quedó subcampeón.
Cuatro equipos llegaron a la última jornada con posibilidades de ganar el título, pero sólo el Flamengo dependía de sus propios resultados para llevarse el trofeo.
El Internacional hizo lo suyo al golear por 4-1 en Porto Alegre al Santo André, pero el triunfo del Flamengo hizo que el esfuerzo del 'colorado' fuera en vano.
Otro que tenía opciones de título era el Palmeiras, que perdió por 2-1 en su visita al Botafogo y quedó en cuarto lugar con 62 unidades.
El Sao Paulo, que tenía igualmente posibilidades matemáticas, arrolló como local por 4-0 al Sport y cerró la temporada en tercer lugar, con 65 puntos, los mismos que el Internacional.
