El Gobierno mantuvo en su reunión del viernes su previsión anterior de un Producto Interior Bruto (PIB) para 2009 del 1,0 por ciento, según la documentación facilitada tras el Consejo de Ministros.
También mantuvo su previsión del PIB para este año en el 1,6 por ciento.
No obstante, el Ejecutivo, que hoy aprobó el Proyecto de Ley de Presupuestos Generales del Estado (PGE) de 2009, cambió su previsión sobre las grandes cuentas con una nueva que establece un déficit para 2009 de 17.100 millones de euros, equivalente al 1,5 por ciento del PIB, frente a una estimación anterior que contemplaba un déficit del 0,34 por ciento para el Estado y un superávit público del 0,8 por ciento.
El Ministro de Economía, Pedro Solbes, calificó los presupuestos de ""los más austeros que este país ha tenido en muchos años", dijo.
Además, el Gobierno también estableció para el próximo ejercicio una previsión del gasto del 2,0 por ciento sin incluir la aportación al servicio público de empleo.
Solbes dijo también que se producirá una caída de los ingresos impositivos en 2008.
"Vemos este año una importante caída de la recaudación, que pensamos se estabilizará en 2009", afirmó en una rueda de prensa tras la reunión del Consejo.
