El ministro de Presidencia en funciones, Ramón Jáuregui, y la exportavoz del PP en el Congreso Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría inician hoy a las diez de la mañana en el Palacio de La Moncloa las negociaciones para el traspaso de poder.
Está previsto que Sáenz de Santamaría y Jáuregui mantengan varios encuentros hasta la investidura del líder del PP, Mariano Rajoy, como presidente del Gobierno.
El jefe del Ejecutivo en funciones, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, ha ofrecido al PP la "máxima colaboración" en las próximas semanas y ha garantizado que actuará con "sentido de la responsabilidad" ante la complicada situación económica.
Rajoy espera tener listo su Gobierno antes de Navidad, por lo que desde el PP quieren reducir los plazos del traspaso, dentro de los límites marcados por la Constitución.
Sáenz de Santamaría tiene la intención de formar en los próximos días un grupo de colaboradores que se reúna con los ministros en funciones o miembros de sus gabinetes.
Las Cortes Generales se constituirán el próximo 13 de diciembre, con sesiones simultáneas en el Congreso y en el Senado en las que los parlamentarios tomarán posesión de sus escaños, elegirán a los presidentes de ambas instituciones y la composición de las Mesas.
El debate de investidura del nuevo presidente se celebrará probablemente los días 20 y 21 del próximo mes, después de que el Rey reciba a los líderes de las formaciones que han obtenido representación parlamentaria.
