La Policía mexicana ha rescatado a al menos 107 personas con signos de desnutrición y abusos sexuales que se encontraban privadas de su libertad y eran explotadas laboralmente en una fábrica clandestina de complementos de ropa situada en ciudad de México, informó la Fiscalía del Distrito Federal.
Después de recibir varias denuncias ciudadanas que apuntaban a que había personas en situación de 'esclavitud' laboral en el inmueble, situado en el distrito de Iztapalapa, en el este de la capital mexicana, la Policía de Investigación llevó a cabo una investigación que culminó con un operativo sorpresa realizado por elementos de la Fuerza Antisecuestros, informaron fuentes de la Procuraduría General de Justicia del Distrito Federal (PGJDF) a los medios locales.
En el operativo fueron detenidas más de veinte personas a las que se está tomando declaración por su presunta responsabilidad en los delitos de trata de personas, explotación laboral, privación ilegal de la libertad y malos tratos, añadió la PGJDF.
Las primeras investigaciones, señala la Fiscalía, apuntan a que los gestores de la fábrica patrullaban por las áreas circundantes e interceptaban a personas de pocos recursos, en su mayoría provenientes del sureste y del centro del país, a los que primero ofrecían empleo y después arrebataban su libertad.
Los rescatados han sido puestos a disposición de las autoridades sanitarias para recibir revisiones médicas y una evaluación de las lesiones y los signos de abusos físicos que presentan.
La mayoría eran indígenas -algunos menores de edad- y sufrían diferentes grados de malnutrición, laceraciones en la piel, ampollas y múltiples lesiones más.
