El piloto español de Moto GP Jorge Lorenzo consiguió el sábado en el Gran Premio de Japón su cuarta 'pole position' del año, adelantándose al campeón del mundo, Casey Stoner, y al estadounidense Nicky Hayden, que será tercero.
El heptacampeón del mundo, el italiano Valentino Rossi, saldrá cuarto el domingo en el circuito de Motegi, por delante del español Dani Pedrosa, que corre con Repsol Honda.
Rossi, compañero de equipo de Lorenzo en Yamaha, está al frente de la clasificación general con 287 puntos y sólo necesita ser tercero en Japón para conseguir su octavo título mundial. Stoner tiene 200 puntos y Pedrosa está tercero con 193. Lorenzo, cuarto de la tabla, tiene 156.
El más rápido en 250cc fue el italiano Marco Simoncelli, con el japonés Hiroshi Aoyama en segunda posición y el español Álex Debón tercero. Álvaro Bautista ocupará el quinto puesto de la parrilla de salida, seguido por Héctor Faubel en el sexto y Julián Simón en la séptima.
Por último, en 125cc, la 'pole' fue para el francés Mike Di Meglio, escoltado por el alemán Stefan Bradl y el español Nicolás Terol.
Simoncelli y Di Meglio lideran las clasificaciones de sus categorías.
