Irvin Kershner, director de "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980), la secuela de "Star Wars", falleció este fin de semana en Los Ángeles (California) a los 87 años, informó hoy su agente, Derek Maki.
Entre otras de las más conocidas obras del cineasta destacan la cinta de James Bond "Never Say Never Again" (1983), con Sean Connery, y "Robocop 2" (1990), con Peter Weller.
En 1961 fue candidato a la Palma de Oro del Festival de Cine de Cannes por "Hoodlum Priest" (1961) y en 1977 fue candidato al premio Emmy por su dirección en el filme para televisión "Raid on Entebbe" (1976).
