Con nieve y temperaturas de hasta 20 bajo cero comenzó el lunes el invierno y la semana de Navidad en Madrid y en diversas comunidades del centro y el norte de España, tal y como advirtió la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET).
Madrid amaneció completamente nevada y con temperaturas de -2 grados en el centro de la capital, aunque fue Castilla y León la comunidad que se llevó el récord con mínimos de hasta -20 grados.
Castilla-La Mancha, Aragón, Navarra y La Rioja fueron las otras comunidades donde la nieve acumulaba entre 10 y 20 centímetros de espesor, según las previsiones de Protección Civil.
Además la AEMET avisó el domingo de temperaturas mínimas en Cantabria y Asturias, con -10º centígrados, así como -13º en Castilla y León y zonas de Guadalajara.
Protección Civil recomienda insistentemente utilizar el transporte público y evitar los viajes largos por carretera, llevar ropa de abrigo, el deposito de combustible lleno y el teléfono móvil con una batería de recambio.
En caso de quedarse dentro del coche aislado por la nieve, es aconsejable mantener la calefacción encendida renovando el aire cada cierto tiempo y evitar que el tubo de escape se obstruya para evitar fugas de gases al interior del automóvil.
En todo caso y si es imprescindible desplazarse, es recomendable estar atento a las recomendaciones de la Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) y extremar las precauciones en carretera.
