El número de parados registrados en las Oficinas de los Servicios Públicos de Empleo subió en agosto un 4,2 porciento a 103.085 personas hasta un total de 2.53 millones, dijo el martes el Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales.
En términos interanuales, el incremento del paro es de 501.705 personas, un alza del 24,7 por ciento.
En una nota, la secretaria general de Empleo, Maravillas Rojo, dijo que se trata de "un empeoramiento de la situación, si bien la coyunturaes muy diferente a la de crisis anteriores y requiere nuevas respuestas".
La secretaria destaca que el número de personas ocupadas es elevada, "pasando de los 12 millones de 1993 a los casi 20 millonesactuales". Además, dice que la tasa de paro es del 10,5 por ciento frente al 22 por ciento que había en 1993.
La nota señala que el paro femenino y masculino siguen aproximándose en términos absolutos. El paro masculino creció en 76.089personas a 1.162.191, mientras que el femenino aumentó en 26.996 a 1.367.810.
