El líder del Partido Popular, Mariano Rajoy, se ha comprometido hoy ante sus diputados a 'dar la batalla' y seguir defendiendo el partido ante lo que llama 'causa general' del juez Baltasar Garzón contra los 'populares' y a hacerlo jurídicamente y políticamente, sin olvidar su vínculo con Mariano Fernández Bermejo.
Rajoy ha recordado, ante los integrantes del grupo popular reunidos en el Congreso, que esa 'causa general' se ha emprendido en plena campaña electoral, con hechos 'escandalosos' como la cacería compartida por el juez instructor del 'caso Gürtel' con el ex ministro de Justicia y con el comisario general de Policía Judicial.
El presidente del PP ha dejado claro que el PP 'no va a olvidar de ninguna de las maneras' el episodio que ha costado el puesto a Mariano Fernández Bermejo.
Además, ha reiterado que el partido va a 'dar la batalla', tanto en los tribunales, como ya ha hecho al intentar recusar a Garzón, como en el Parlamento, porque entiende que se están produciendo episodios en diversos lugares de supuestos casos de corrupción donde se da muy diferente trato a los implicados cuando son del PP.
Si bien ha dejado claro que su partido aboga por que 'se cumpla la ley y se castigue a quien no cumpla', también ha reiterado que la Justicia debe ser 'imparcial' y las Fuerzas de Seguridad tienen que tratar a todos los ciudadanos como iguales en derechos y obligaciones.
Rajoy ha dicho estas palabras tras mencionar casos en los que cargos públicos del PP han sido detenidos y esposados, y después de apuntar que la jefa policial de Canarias actúa 'con toda la saña del mundo' y 'por razones partidistas' en sus decisiones organizativas.
Ante el plenario del grupo parlamentario, el líder del PP ha resaltado el buen nombre del partido que, ha subrayado, 'no ha recibido ni un sólo euro de las personas implicadas por Garzón'.
También ha defendido la presunción de inocencia 'de todos sus militantes', para apostillar que 'si hay alguien quien ha hecho lo que no debe' el PP tiene como una de sus señas de identidad 'la ejemplaridad en el ejercicio de la actividad pública'.
