Los regantes de la cuenca del Ebro se han comprometido hoy, tras reiterar su rechazo a la venta de derechos, a buscar fórmulas para ahorrar agua con el objetivo de que no haya detrimento de caudal durante el periodo en que funcione la prolongación hasta Barcelona del "minitravase" de Tarragona.
Así lo ha anunciado el presidente de la Federación de Regantes de la Cuenca del Ebro, César Trillo, quien descartó la posibilidad de que haya cesión o venta de derechos de agua y explicó que se trata de un acuerdo voluntario de los regantes, que deberá ser ratificado y concretado en una asamblea que se convocará previsiblemente la segunda semana de mayo.
El secretario de Estado de Medio Rural, Josep Puxeu, declaró que este acuerdo permitirá hacer frente a la "gravísima" situación que sufre el abastecimiento de agua al área metropolitana de Barcelona sin restar "ni un litro más" a la concesión del Consorcio de Aguas de Tarragona, que gestiona el "ministrasvase", y además hacerlo con absoluta transparencia.
