El español Julián Simón (Suter) logró hoy en el circuito de Indianápolis su primera "pole" en la categoría de Moto2.
Simón, campeón del mundo de 125 c.c. en 2009, consiguió el mejor tiempo en su última vuelta al batir a su compatriota Héctor Faubel (Suter) y al británico Scott Reding (Suter).
El líder del mundial, el español Toni Elías (Moriwaki), dominó buena parte de los entrenamientos oficiales, pero sufrió una caída y no pudo pasar de la sexta plaza.
