Veintiún menores africanos llegados a Canarias en cayucos han sido trasladados a un centro de acogida de Cáceres, informó hoy el Gobierno de Canarias.
Los menores rondan los 17 años, son todos de origen subsahariano y vivirán en las instalaciones de la Asociación para la Integración Social de Menores en Extremadura de la capital cacereña, explicó la Consejería de Bienestar Social Juventud y Vivienda del ejecutivo regional.
Con este último traslado ya son 192 los niños trasladados a Península en el marco de los acuerdos que el Gobierno canario está llevando a cabo con diferentes entidades sin ánimo de lucro ubicadas en distintas comunidades autónomas.
Estos menores forman parte de los 1.262 jóvenes inmigrantes que el Gobierno de Canarias tutela, la mayoría de los cuales se encuentran en la red de centros de los Cabildos Insulares y los seis dispositivos de emergencia gestinados por el Ejecutivo canario a través de la Asociación Mundo Nuevo, en los que viven 705 niños extranjeros no acompañados.
