La comisaria de Telecomunicaciones de la Unión Europea, Viviane Reding, hapropuesto limitar a once céntimos de euro el precio de enviar un mensaje de texto desde un país del bloque,informaron el miércoles fuentes de la UE.
La propuesta largamente esperada de Reding circulará ahora entre todas comisarías de la UE antes de serformalmente adoptada es mes o principios de octubre. Los 27 países miembros y el Parlamento deben aprobartambién el cambio.
La iniciativa también extiende en tres años, hasta 2013, el límite ya impuesto a la itinerancia de las llamadas demóvil.
También quiere introducir tarifas por segundo a partir del 31 de una llamada, para evitar que los operadorescobren por minuto aunque la llamada dure segundos, dijeron las fuentes.
Reding también propone un límite general de un euro por megabyte en el uso del móvil o el portátil para navegarpor la red, descargar datos o enviar correos electrónicos, añadieron las fuentes.
