La compañía de tarjetas de crédito Visa planea ofrecer a finales de año servicios a teléfonos que tengan el programa informático Android de Google, que incluirán alertas cuando se use una tarjeta de crédito.
Visa dijo además que en octubre el mayor fabricante de teléfonos móviles del mundo, Nokia, comenzará a vender el terminal 6212, cuyos usuarios podrán conectarse a un lector electrónico para realizar pagos y transferencias de dinero.
La empresa de tarjetas de crédito dijo que también estaba desarrollando una herramienta para permitir pagos "sin contacto" en tiendas a través del teléfono móvil con Android.
Sin embargo, Visa dijo que los servicios, comunes en países como Japón, no han llegado a países como Estados Unidos porque las tiendas necesitan aplicar nuevos lectores de tarjetas y teléfonos móviles con la tecnología necesaria para ese uso.
Visa dijo el jueves que comenzaría ofreciendo alertas de transacciones y ofertas especiales para los usuarios de Android.
El sistema trabajará con mapas de Google y tecnología de localización para ayudar a los usuarios a encontrar los cajeros cerca y tiendas con descuentos especiales.
Visa dijo que en los primeros meses la función estará disponible para usuarios de teléfonos Android que tengan tarjetas Visa emitidas por JPMorgan Chase, pero que planea ampliarla a otros bancos para 2009.
