Llegó Bullock y apagó la luz de Estudiantes. El madridista, que batía el récord merengue al cumplir 170 partidos de Liga, protagonizó un partido en progresión, como si quisiera poner el punto final al partido con una frase suya. Bordó el último cuarto y el Madrid pudo al fin respirar tras un bello e igualado partido.
Jansen y Reyes se estaban convirtiendo en los jefes del partido. Los dos emergían con fuerza cuando sus equipos les necesitaban para equilibrar el partido. El madridista, además de anotar sin descanso, fue el motor merengue tanto en ataque como en defensa, en los tres primeros cuartos. Por su parte, el estudiantil demostró la importancia de su presencia en todo momento: cada vez que se sentaba en el banquillosu equipo naufragaba.
Algo tiene la historia que se repite a sí misma. Estudiantes llevaba cinco años sin ganar en la pista del Real Madrid y ayer dio la impresión de querer torcer el guión de las estadísticas.
En los primeros minutos del encuentro el partido emitió el falso mensaje de que el Madrid iba a dominar. Sin embargo, Estudiantes funcionó como un bloque durante todo el derbi hasta que surgió Bullock.
Todo lo que intentaba el base estadounidense en los minutos finales se convertía en oro. Asistió, defendió, tiró de lejos, dribló, encestó desde la pintura... Era su fiesta. El partido acabó con varias hermosas canastas, un regalo para Bullock. No de Reyes, sino de Hosley y Massey.
