Leonel Messi, el 'Balón de Oro', también ha logrado el 'Balón de Oro' del Mundial de Clubes, que ha finalizado hoy en Abu Dhabi con el triunfo culé ante Estudiantes (1-2). Juan Sebastián Verón se llevó el de Plata y Xavi Hernández el de Bronce.
Messi, autor del tanto definitivo en el tiempo de prórroga, acabó el torneo con dos goles -el primero en la semifinal- y consiguió anotar en cinco competiciones, sólo una menos que Pedro.
El argentino volvió a ser decisivo como ya lo fue en la final de la 'Champions' ante el Manchester.
El de Plata recayó en manos del también argentino Juan Sebastián Verón, que a sus 3.4 años es el buque insignia de un equipo que ya contaba con un éxito en esta competición. La 'brujita', sin embargo, no pudo rememorar el éxito que ya consiguiera su padre con idéntico equipo cuando se llamaba Copa Intercontinental.
Por último, el Balón de Bronce del torneo fue a las manos de Xavi Hernández. El centrocampista de Terrasa, mejor jugador de la Eurocopa de 2008, contribuyó con su buen hacer a la construcción del fútbol blaugrana. El catalán tampoco se cansa de acumular éxitos.
