El Sevilla anunció hoy, a través de su web oficial, el fichaje del centrocampista marfileño Didier Zokora para las próximas cuatro temporadas, tras el acuerdo alcanzado con su club de origen, el Tottenham inglés.
El futbolista de 28 años, se convierte, de esta forma, en la primera adquisición del conjunto nervionense para la próxima campaña, después de esta misma mañana se haya llegado a un acuerdo entre la entidad de Nervión, el propio jugador y el Tottenham.
El presidente sevillista, José María del Nido cerró en la sede de los 'Spurs' la operación, en una reunión en la que también estuvieron presentes el presidente del club inglés, Daniel Levy, los directores generales de ambos conjuntos, el subdirector general deportivo blanquirrojo, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, Monchi; los represntantes del jugador y el propio Zokora.
El futbolista tendrá una cláusula de rescisión de 30 millones de euros. Zokora, según indica el Sevilla en su web oficial, es el 'auténtico líder de la selección de Costa de Marfil, siendo el que más internacionalidades acumula con dicho combinado'.
A sus 28 años, Zokora está considerado como uno de los mejores centrocampistas de la 'Premier League', además de haber triunfado en Bélgica y Francia con el Racing de Genk y el Saint Etienne. El jugador será presentado el próximo miércoles con su nuevo equipo.
'Zokora es justo lo que se buscaba en el Sevilla FC, un mediocento potente, con mucho despliegue y sobradas prestaciones para ejercer de todo terreno. De hecho, el video que ilustra esta noticia, en el que se ve a Zokora conduciendo el balón sorteando a rivales en un derbi ante el Arsenal, deja claro la habilidad y fuerza bruta de la flamante adquisición del Sevilla', añaden desde el club sevillista.
