Si el Tribunal Constitucional emitiera una sentencia contra el Estatut catalán, el problema no lo tendría Catalunya, sino el Gobierno del Estado. Así lo ve la ejecutiva del PSC, tal y como expresó ayer su viceprimer secretario y portavoz, Miquel Iceta. 'Una sentencia que cuestionara de forma significativa el Estatut sería un golpe muy duro para el presidente Zapatero', afirmó.
'¿Alguién piensa que si hubiera una sentencia que dice que el Estatut no vale, el PP no pediría responsabilidades a Zapatero?', se preguntó.
Iceta criticó reiteradamente el debate abierto en las últimas semanas en torno a una sentencia del TC que aún no se conoce. En este sentido, le pareció 'sorprendente' ver 'cómo se hacen propuestas sobre algo que no se ha producido', y aseguró que los catalanes 'están hartos de ver cómo se pierde la fuerza por la boca y de gesticulaciones', en alusión a la convocatoria ya anulada de una manifestación previa de la entidad catalanista Òmnium Cultural a la que en un inicio dio apoyo el vicepresidente de la Generalitat, Josep Lluís Carod Rovira.
Por contra, Iceta celebró que Jordi Pujol, presidente de honor de CiU, 'coincida' en que cualquier acto de respuesta para apoyar el Estatut debe tener lugar después de la sentencia y no antes.
El portavoz del PSC defendió la plena constitucionalidad de la carta estatutaria y advirtió que una sentencia negativa no será en ningún caso de 'extinción' de la norma catalana. Por ello, para poner en práctica todo el contenido del Estatut, será preciso 'hacer política', señaló.
El PSC sostiene así que la sentencia 'se deberá acatar' sea cual sea, pero 'también deberá respetarse el contenido del Estatut, que votaron los ciudadanos'.
Pese a todas estas consideraciones, en la reunión de la ejecutiva de este lunes, la primera después de las vacaciones del verano, el PSC decidió 'no opinar públicamente sobre la sentencia', afirmó su portavoz.
El dirigente del PSC criticó las acusaciones del PP hacia los socialistas durante el verano realizadas sin tener pruebas ni haber acudido a los juzgados. 'El PP ha pretendido evitar responsabilidades ante el caso Gürtel', opinó.
