Inmigrantes en un bote neumático. | EP
Salvamento Marítimo ha rescatado este sábado a 32 personas que viajaban a bordo de una embarcación neumática en el mar de Alborán, y las traslada al puerto de Almería.
Así lo ha confirmado un portavoz de Salvamento Marítimo, que ha precisado que, sobre las 9:30 horas, el centro de este organismo dependiente del Ministerio de Fomento en Almería ha recibido una llamada del buque Valpas del Frontex informando de que había avistado a una patera a tres millas al noreste de la isla de Alborán.
Por ello, el centro ha movilizado a la embarcación Salvamar Spica y, mientras ésta llegaba a la zona, el buque Valpas ha arriado a su auxiliar —embarcación de menor tamaño y más manejable— para escoltar a la patera e intervenir en caso necesario.
Finalmente, la Salvamar Spica ha llegado a la posición y ha rescatado a las 32 personas —30 hombres y dos mujeres—, que en estos momentos están siendo trasladadas al puerto de Almería, remolcando, además, a la patera en la que viajaban, una embarcación neumática blanca y de cinco metros de largo.
Estas personas llegarán a tierra sobre las 14:30 horas de este sábado, y en el puerto les esperará, a petición de Salvamento Marítimo, el habitual dispositivo de asistencia humanitaria.
