Unas 300 personas pertenecientes a una plataforma vecinal de Elgoibar (La Rioja) se han concentrado ante la cárcel de Logroño para pedir la liberación de Arnaldo Otegi, que se encuentra internado en este centro penitenciario.
Los representantes de la plataforma "Arnaldo askatu, politika askatu" (Liberad a Arnaldo, liberad la política) han leído varios comunicados y una carta del ex dirigente de Batasuna.
Los asistentes, que portaban ikurriñas y banderas a favor del acercamiento de los presos de ETA a las cárceles vascas, han marchado hasta la puerta de la prisión y se han concentrado en una rampa situada enfrente, de modo que los internos pudieran verlos.
Al acto han asistido el dirigente de Herri Batasuna Tasio Erkizia, el ex parlamentario de Batasuna Antxon Morcillo, la ex concejal y cabeza de lista de la candidatura Herria Aurrera, Arantza Urkaregui, y el alcalde de Elorrio por ANV, Niko Moreno.
También ha asistido el músico Fermín Muguruza, quien ha colaborado con Irun Lion Zion y Bad Sound Syustems en la grabación de una canción que exige la liberación de Otegi.
En la carta transmitida por Otegi, el dirigente abertzale ha aludido a que se trata de un proceso lleno de dificultades, "porque al Estado le conviene mantener la situación actual".
Además, sobre el acercamiento de los presos al País Vasco, ha dicho: "Ellos no se moverán, tenemos que obligarles a moverse, porque no nacimos para resistir, nacimos para ganar y ganaremos".
