Todas las administraciones públicas, más el Comité Olímpico Español, arroparán a Madrid 16 en su primer examen ante el COI, el próximo miércoles en Atenas.
Ese día la Comisión Ejecutiva del COI desvelará qué ciudades entre las siete aspirantes pasan a la fase final y se jugarán la sede en la votación de octubre de 2009 en Copenhague.
La oficina olímpica Madrid 16 desembarcará en Atenas casi al completo, encabezada por su consejera delegada, Mercedes Coghen, que viajó hoy.
El alcalde de la ciudad, Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, también se trasladará a Grecia, al igual que el consejero de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, Alberto López Viejo.
El secretario de Estado para el Deporte, Jaime Lissavetzky, y el presidente del Comité Olímpico Español (COE), Alejandro Blanco, respaldarán igualmente en persona a Madrid 16, al igual que el único miembro español del COI, Juan Antonio Samaranch jr.
La candidatura pretende ofrecer así al COI una imagen de unidad en torno al proyecto olímpico de Madrid, porque, en realidad, sus intervenciones públicas en Atenas están limitadas a alguna conferencia de prensa.
