El equipo Toro Rosso ha confirmado hoy de manera oficial al español Jaime Alguersuari como piloto oficial de la escudería en el Campeonato del Mundo de Fórmula Uno del 2010.
Alguersuari, piloto del equipo desde el Gran Premio de Hungría del 2009, seguirá un año más en el equipo.
"Teniendo en cuenta que hizo su debut sólo mediada la temporada del 2009, en el Gran Premio de Hungría, sin ensayos previos, (Alguersuai) hizo un buen trabajo, y fue progresando en la segunda mitad del año y de una forma madura, pese a tener sólo diecinueve años", explica el director del equipo, Franz Tost, en un comunicado.
"Esta temporada (Alguersuari) afronta una nueva fase de aprendizaje, ya que todos los circuitos de la primera parte de la temporada va a ser nuevos para él", agrega Tost.
Según el director de la escudería, el nombramiento de Jaime también confirma el compromiso del equipo con la incorporación de los pilotos de Programa de jóvenes pilotos de Red Bull.
El anuncio de hoy significa que el equipo mantiene la misma alineación de pilotos, ya que Alguersuari será de nuevo el compañero del suizo Sebastien Buemi.
Alguersuari es el tercer piloto español titular de la parrilla del Mundial de Fórmula Uno del 2010, y se une a Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) y Pedro de la Rosa (Sauber). Nunva antes España había tenido tres pilotos en el Mundial.
A los 19 años Alguersuari fue en el 2009 el más joven piloto en disputar un gran premio. Sustituyó en Hungría al francés Sebastien Bourdais.
