El tribunal del distrito Jamóvniki de Moscú aplazó hasta el 27 diciembre la lectura de la sentencia contra el fundador de la petrolera Yukos, Mijaíl Jodorkovski, y su socio Platón Lébedev.
El anuncio se hizo mediante un aviso colgado en la sede del tribunal, cuya oficina de prensa indicó que no se informará de las causas del aplazamiento, comunicó la agencia Interfax.
Inicialmente se había anunciado para hoy el comienzo de la lectura de la sentencia contra los dos empresarios, que en mayo de 2005 ya fueron condenados a ocho años de prisión por delitos económicos de los que ambos se declaran inocentes.
El segundo juicio contra Jodorkovski y Lébedev la fiscalía pide 14 años de prisión por el presunto robo de 218 millones de toneladas de crudo por valor de 27.000 millones de dólares a Yukos y de blanqueo de dinero.
Los abogados de Jodorkovski acusan a la Fiscalía de "mentir" sobre los supuestos delitos cometidos por su cliente y aseguraron que ésta no tiene en su poder pruebas que demuestren la culpabilidad de sus defendidos.
Jodorkovski ha denunciado que el segundo proceso en su contra, al igual que el primero, tiene motivaciones políticas y busca legitimar la nacionalización de Yukos, que fue la mayor petrolera privada de Rusia, y la venta de sus activos a la estatal Rosneft.
Recientemente, el primer ministro ruso, Vladímir Putin, defendió el proceso judicial contra ambos empresarios, considerados "presos políticos" por activistas de derechos humanos.
