Un hombre fue arrestado en relación con un incidente de seguridad que motivó el sábado la evacuación de la terminal de American Airlines en el aeropuerto internacional JFK en Nueva York, informaron las autoridades.
Jules Paul Bouloute, de 57 años, un haitiano residente en Brooklyn, fue arrestado acusado de entrar sin autorización al aeropuerto, supuestamente a través de una puerta restringida, tras llegar en un vuelo desde Santo Domingo, lo que motivó la alarma.
La terminal 8 fue evacuada durante varias horas y miles de pasajeros se retrasaron debido a las revisiones después del incidente, que ocurrió poco después de las 20:00 GMT del sábado, dijo el portavoz de American Airlines, Charley Wilson.
La autoridad de seguridad en el transporte de Nueva York y Nueva Jersey, que tiene jurisdicción sobre los tres grandes aeropuertos del área metropolitana, ordenó la evacuación.
