El presidente del Arsenal, Peter Hill-Wood, ha declarado que no existe "absolutamente ninguna posibilidad" de que el capitán del club, el internacional español Cesc Fábregas, vaya a abandonar el Emirates este verano.
El centrocampista catalán, pieza fundamental en los planes del técnico francés Arsene Wenger tiene contrato con esta entidad hasta el 2014 aunque su nombre ha sido vinculado con el Milan, que parece haberle convertido en uno de sus objetivos de verano.
Para aclarar cualquier duda que pueda surgir con respecto al futuro inmediato de Cesc, Hill-Wood ha recalcado a los medios británicos que el capitán "gunner" no seguirá los pasos del togolés Emmanuel Adebayor o del marfileño Kolo Touré, traspasados este verano al Manchester City.
"No hay absolutamente ninguna posibilidad de que vayamos a vender a Cesc y todas estas habladurías no son más que invenciones", dijo el máximo mandatario del Arsenal.
Hill-Wood observó que "este tipo de rumores surgen de vez en cuando y es algo a lo que estamos perfectamente acostumbrados".
La realidad, añadió, es que "Cesc está feliz en el Arsenal, por lo que yo sé".
