El ex presidente del Gobierno José María Aznar se ha reunido con una delegación de conservadores británicos y republicanos estadounidenses que residen en España y ha mostrado su alegría por la victoria del PP y de los tories en las elecciones europeas.
En el encuentro, Aznar ha destacado "la importancia de compartir la misma visión de las relaciones entre Estados Unidos y Europa", y ha defendido la vigencia de una "Europa atlántica, basada en la creencia de los valores tradicionales y de un mundo libre".
A la reunión, que ha tenido lugar en la sede de FAES, han asistido alrededor de setenta representantes de los conservadores británicos y de los republicanos estadounidenses.
El líder de los primeros, Ben Harris, ha recordado cómo durante el mandato de Aznar se reforzaron los lazos entre Estados Unidos, el Reino Unido y España, y ha manifestado que ahora "fuera se conoce más al presidente del Real Madrid que a Zapatero", según apunta FAES.
