El Banco de Japón (BOJ) decidió hoy mantener inalterados los tipos de interés de la segunda economía mundial en el 0,1 por ciento, al término de su reunión mensual.
Los ocho miembros de la comisión monetaria del banco central votaron por unanimidad mantener los tipos después de haberlos bajado desde el 0,3 por ciento en diciembre, informó el BOJ en un comunicado.
Como preveían los analistas, el BOJ mantiene así su política de tipos cercanos a cero para favorecer la liquidez en los mercados ante la profunda recesión que sufre Japón desde mediados del pasado año.
Asimismo, se espera que el BOJ presente hoy mismo una revisión de crecimiento del Producto Interior Bruto (PIB) a la baja en su informe de perspectivas económicas y de inflación.
En el pasado informe en enero el BOJ pronosticó una contracción de la economía japonesa a final del presente año fiscal, que termina en marzo de 2010, del 2 por ciento.
