El barril de petróleo de la OPEP perdió el martes 80 centavos y acabó cotizando a 66,61 dólares, su precio más bajo desde el pasado día 3, informó hoy en Viena el cartel energético.
De esta forma, el crudo de referencia de la Organización de Países Exportadores de Petróleo (OPEP) acumuló un descenso de 3,67 dólares, ó un 5 por ciento, en sólo cuatro días.
La depreciación de crudo OPEP contrastó con las importantes subidas registradas por los petróleo de tipo Texas y Brent, de referencia en Estados Unidos y Europa respectivamente.
El Texas acumuló un 2,57 por ciento y marcó un precio de 69,24 dólares por barril, al tiempo que el Brent se quedó en 68,03, tras subir un 2,7 por ciento respecto a la sesión anterior.
El debilitamiento del dólar frente al euro favoreció ese encarecimiento, al animar la inversión en materias primas que se negocian con la divisa estadounidense.
Además, el aumento de la tensión política en Irán, cuarto mayor productor del planeta, y los repetidos ataques contra oleoductos en Nigeria, contribuyeron también a empujar los precios al alza.
