El presidente del PP vasco, Antonio Basagoiti, ha pedido unidad de "todos" en la derrota del terrorismo y ha brindado su colaboración a los Gobiernos de Patxi López y de José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero para conseguir la paz y la libertad.
En los pasillos de la Cámara vasca, Basagoiti, acompañado de varios parlamentarios del PP, ha condenado rotundamente el atentado de Arrigorriaga y ha mandado un abrazo "muy afectuoso" a la familia del policía asesinado, Eduardo Antonio Puelles García.
"Sabemos cómo se sienten ya que nos hemos sentido como ellos en más de una ocasión", ha dicho Basagoiti, quien también ha agradecido el trabajo de la Policía Nacional en defensa de las libertades, del Estado de Derecho y de la convivencia.
El presidente del PP vasco ha subrayado que hoy es un "día duro", con una familia rota, en el que todos los demócratas lloramos", y ha añadido que "también es un día en el que tenemos que estar todos unidos en la derrota del terrorismo".
"Vamos a acabar con ellos, vamos a conseguir la paz y la libertad y vamos a estar más unidos si cabe en la defensa de las libertades", ha insistido.
Basagoiti ha subrayado que el PP le brinda "mayor colaboración si cabe al Gobierno de López para que desde las instituciones vascas consigamos la paz y la libertad y para que acabemos con el terrorismo".
También ha trasladado su apoyo al Gobierno de Rodríguez Zapatero "para derrotar a ETA y vivir en paz y libertad".
Según ha recalcado, "tenemos que tener claro que a ETA se le puede derrotar, que con ETA se puede acabar y que podemos conseguir que cada día tenga menos apoyos si se aplica la ley, si se trabaja la deslegitimación social del terrorismo y si se hace lo que se debe".
