Actualizado:
El Banco Central Europeo (BCE) mantuvo el jueves su principal tipo de refinanciación al mínimo histórico del 1 por ciento, tal como preveían los analistas.
Los mercados ahora centran su atención en la rueda de prensa del presidente de la entidad, Jean-Claude Trichet.
El BCE también mantuvo sin cambios el tipo de depósitos a un día, al 0,25 por ciento, y el tipo de préstamos a un día al 1,75 por ciento.
Todos los 80 economistas consultados por Reuters pronosticaron que los tipos de interés se mantuvieran sin cambios.
El BCE ha bajado los tipos de interés de forma sucesiva desde el 4,25 por ciento en octubre de 2008.
