Las acciones europeas operaban al alza el jueves a tono con subidas en todo el mundo, después de que la Reserva Federal estadounidense dijera la víspera que va a inyectar un billón de dólares en la economía de su país, lo que revivía las esperanzas de mejora para el sistema financiero global.
A las 11:24 GMT, el índice FTSEurofirst 300 de las principales acciones europeas subía un 1,52 por ciento a 721,5 puntos.
El mayor banco europeo, HSBC recuperaba sus pérdidas iniciales y ganaba un 8,24 por ciento a mediodía tras aprobar la junta de accionistas la ampliación de capital de 12.500 millones de libras. Este viernes comenzarán a negociarse los derechos de suscripción para esta emisión.
Otros bancos europeos también ganaban. BNP Paribas, Banco Santander, UBS y UniCredit subían entre un 4,12 y un 10,3 por ciento. Barclays llegaba a ganar un 15,1 por ciento.
Las acciones se vieron estimuladas por el anuncio de la Reserva Federal estadounidense de que compraría bonos del Tesoro de EEUU a largo plazo por primera vez en cuatro décadas para intentar revitalizar la economía.
BP se recuperaba y subía un 0,76 por ciento tras caer en las primeras operaciones por un informe desfavorable de Morgan Stanley
