El coordinador general de Izquierda Unida (IU), Cayo Lara, ha afirmado que en su nuevo tiempo político después de las recientes elecciones al Parlamento Vasco -en las que perdió 28.000 votos-, Ezker Batua (EB) debe situarse a la izquierda del PSOE-PSE y "no acercarse a posiciones independentistas ni abertzales".
"En su siguiente tiempo, EB tiene que perfilar un discurso alternativo a la izquierda del PSOE y que no puede aproximarse a posiciones independentistas ni abertzales. Porque hay un espacio impresionante en esa izquierda, también en Euskadi, y debe ocuparlo EB", ha planteado Lara.
Según el máximo dirigente de IU, los órganos de EB están haciendo ahora una "reflexión profunda" y han abierto un proceso "de arriba a abajo", en el que van a discutir en todas las Asambleas para ver las causas exactas de la pérdida de esos 28.000 sufragios.
Recalcó, eso sí, que EB cosechó esos malos resultados a pesar de que durante el tiempo que estuvo en el Gobierno realizó una "buena gestión" de las políticas sociales y de vivienda, algo que, en cualquier caso, "no fue reconocido por los ciudadanos".
