La ministra de Defensa, Carme Chacón, ha anunciado hoy que en las próximas semanas procederá al relevo de la cúpula militar y agradeció a los jefes de los tres ejércitos su labor realizada hasta ahora, y en particular al Jefe de Estado Mayor de la Defensa (JEMAD), general Félix Sanz.
En su comparecencia ante la Comisión de Defensa del Congreso, Chacón no ha concretado los nombres de los nuevos jefes de Estado Mayor, aunque sí ha adelantado que la figura del JEMAD se verá reforzada durante la presente legislatura.
La actual cúpula militar está formada por el JEMAD, general Félix Sanz Roldán, y los jefes de Estado Mayor del Ejército (JEME), general Carlos Villar, de la Armada (AJEMA), almirante general Sebastián Zaragoza, y del Aire (JEMA), general Francisco José García de la Vega.
Por otra parte, la ministra ha revelado que en el nuevo periodo de sesiones habrá una nueva ley de Defensa Nacional, que incluirá el mandato de elaborar una Estrategia Nacional de Seguridad.
