La actriz Concha Velasco, el seleccionador nacional de fútbol, Vicente del Bosque, y el cocinero Ferrán Adriá protagonizan este año la campaña institucional del Día de la Fiesta Nacional del 12 de Octubre diseñada por Defensa.
La campaña, que se desarrollará con el lema "Conoce tus fuerzas", recoge el testimonio de las tres personas elegidas tras conocer de primera mano el trabajo que realizan distintas unidades de las Fuerzas Armadas al servicio de la sociedad, según el Ministerio que dirige Carme Chacón.
Para ello, Velasco, Del Bosque y Adriá han compartido con los militares una jornada en diferentes unidades de los Ejércitos.
El seleccionador nacional de fútbol ha presenciado el entrenamiento diario de la Brigada Acorazada 'Guadarrama XII', en El Goloso (Madrid), cuyos militares han estado recientemente destacados en la misión internacional en Líbano.
Por su parte, Concha Velasco ha conocido el trabajo que realiza la Unidad Militar de Emergencias (UME) en su lucha contra los incendios y otras catástrofes, en una visita a su cuartel general y a la base del 43 Grupo de Fuerzas Aéreas, en Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).
Ferrán Adriá ha embarcado en la fragata de la Armada 'Blas de Lezo', cuya dotación realizó en el primer semestre del año labores de vigilancia marítima frente a las costas de Somalia como parte del dispositivo de la OTAN que colabora en la lucha contra la piratería.
El desfile de este año tendrá lugar en el Paseo de la Castellana, entre la Plaza de Cuzco y la intersección con la calle Joaquín Costa, mientras que los actos centrales se celebrarán en la Plaza de Lima.
