El dirigente comunista y director del semanario Voz, Carlos Lozano, confirmó hoy que ya existen contactos con el nuevo máximo comandante de las FARC, "Alfonso Cano", en busca de acercamientos para negociar un canje de rehenes por guerrilleros presos.
El periodista, una de las personas que tiene comunicación con la comandancia rebelde, señaló en entrevista con Caracol Radio que se buscó establecer un primer contacto con "Cano", alias de Guillermo León Saenz, por distintas vías y que todo va "por buen camino".
Lozano dijo que junto al ex ministro Álvaro Leyva acordaron establecer contactos con el nuevo jefe rebelde, tras ser autorizados por el presidente colombiano, Álvaro Uribe, para buscar una comunicación con las FARC que permita avanzar en la búsqueda de un acuerdo humanitario.
"Conocida la muerte de 'Manuel Maruralda' convinimos hacerlo un poco dirigido hacia el nuevo jefe de las FARC, que como se conoce es 'Alfonso Cano' (...) y puedo decir que todo está por buen camino", precisó.
Lozano aseguró que todas las comunicaciones se han mantenido de manera "discreta" y "prudente", y que el trabajo se ha hecho de manera coordinada con el grupo de países amigos (España, Francia y Suiza).
"No me atrevo a decir más allá que ya hay un contacto abierto, pero sí les puedo asegurar que todo va por buen camino y ya hay unas vías de comunicación", agregó.
El dirigente del Partido Comunista Colombiano (PCC) pidió no excluir la ayuda que ofrecen otras personas o Gobiernos como el del presidente venezolano, Hugo Chávez, y la senadora de oposición Piedad Córdoba, a quienes las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) entregaron seis rehenes a principios de año.
Por su parte, el ministro de Interior y Justicia, Carlos Holguín, confirmó que Leyva y Lozano aún tienen la autorización que el Gobierno les dio a principios de mayo para buscar una comunicación directa con las FARC en busca de una acuerdo humanitario.
"Leyva está autorizado por el Gobierno junto con el señor Lozano para buscar contactos y para adelantar gestiones humanitarias" , dijo a periodistas.
El fundador y líder máximo de las FARC, Pedro Antonio Marín, alias "Manuel Marulanda Vélez" o "Tirofijo", murió el 26 de marzo último de una crisis cardíaca, según el mando central rebelde, y fue sustituido por "Alfonso Cano".
