El administrador delegado de Fiat, Sergio Marchionne, aseguró hoy en Turín (norte), donde tiene su sede el grupo automovilístico, que el interés por la alemana Opel "todavía permanece abierto" y agregó que "técnicamente" la negociación no está cerrada.
"El interés permanece, no depende de nosotros", afirmó Marchione a los medios italianos.
El consejero delegado comentó también hoy el comunicado del 29 de mayo, en el que Fiat anunció que no iba a participar en la reunión sobre Opel organizada por el Ejecutivo alemán para ese día y dijo que en esa ocasión el grupo ya dejó claro su posición.
En la nota, Fiat explicó que la compañía mantenía su compromiso con el fin de intentar encontrar vías para satisfacer las peticiones de General Motors y del Gobierno alemán, pero que la emergencia de la situación no podía forzar a la empresa a asumir "riesgos inusuales".
Aquel día Marchionne declaró que las cuestiones surgidas en las últimas fases de la negociación sobre Opel habían sorprendido negativamente a Fiat, ya que no habían sido informados de ciertos datos e informaciones financieras clave que consideraban esenciales para formular una oferta de fusión seria.
Marchionne se refería así a la petición que General Motors planteó el miércoles 27 de mayo, de una financiación adicional de 300 millones de euros, a añadir a los 1.500 millones de avales previstos por Berlín.
