El ciclista español Alberto Contador está "hecho polvo" después de ser condenado por el Tribunal de Arbitraje Deportivo (TAS) por su positivo por clenbuterol, según ha informado a Efe su tío Abelardo.
Abelardo Contador ha hablado telefónicamente esta mañana con su hermano Paco, el padre del corredor, que le ha comentado el estado anímico de su hijo.
"Por mucha fuerza moral, por mucho....que te quiten un Tour un Giro, eso no se gana todos los días", además de no poder correr la próxima ronda gala, ha indicado su tío, que reside en Barcarrota (Badajoz), de donde son los padres y los abuelos del corredor.
El tío del corredor no ha querido molestar a su sobrino y solo le ha enviado un mensaje de animo.
Abelardo Contador ha considerado que la resolución del TAS es una "injusticia" porque no existen "pruebas" de que se haya dopado.
La familia, que se ha quedado "helada" por la noticia, esperaba la absolución del corredor de Pinto (Madrid), porque cree en su inocencia y porque además contaba para su defensa con los mejores abogados del mundo, según su tío.
Los vecinos de Barcarrota, de donde Contador era Hijo Adoptivo, también están "triste" con la decisión, ha apuntado a Efe.
Sobre si el fallo se puede interpretar como una persecución al deporte español, ha señalado que eso es lo que comenta la gente, y ha añadido que "no es normal" que la decisión del tribunal deportivo se haya retrasado tanto.
Además del aspecto deportivo, su tío ha hecho hincapié en el dinero que se ha gastado en su defensa el corredor y el que tendrá que devolver.
