El presidente de Petronor, Josu Jon Imaz, aseguró hoy que la demanda de energía eléctrica puede aumentar en los próximos 25 años en torno al 45% debido principalmente al consumo de los países energéticos, entre los que destacó a China e India, y al aumento de la población mundial.
Imaz hizo esta previsión durante la segunda sesión de la reunión anual de la asociación de la Asociación Española del Gas (Sedigás).
En este sentido, explicó que el consumo energético global está principalmente enfocado en Estados Unidos, Europa y Japón, si bien resaltó el importante crecimiento de China e India.
Estos países, de los que dijo que "ya empiezan a iluminarse", alcanzarán en 2030 el 40% del consumo total de electricidad.
Asimismo, resaltó el importante crecimiento que vive el parque automovilístico de China y añadió que en 2025 puede poner en circulación 70 millones de nuevos vehículos.
Una cifra que en su opinión representa el parque automovilístico de Francia, España, Italia y Portugal juntos.
El presidente de Petronor pidió a los poderes públicos que incrementen los esfuerzos en eficiencia energética para garantizar la seguridad del suministro e impulsará un desarrollo energético.
Con respecto a las energías renovables, Imaz destacó el importante desarrollo tanto de sector solar como del eólico, del que dijo "ha sido la historia de un éxito".
